One-way Perspective Glass (mirror surface) must face the light or the outside when using the product. When the outside is brighter than the inside, one-way perspective glass is similar to a regular mirror, and the outside cannot see the inside scenery, but the inside can see the outside scenery. However, when the outside is darker than the inside, the outside can see the inside scenery, and the inside can also see the outside scenery. The clarity depends on the intensity of the outside illumination.

Basic Properties of One-way Perspective Glass

One-way Perspective Glass,(also known as atomic mirror, one-sided mirror, single-sided glass) is a type of glass with a high reflectivity to visible light. When using one-way perspective glass, the reflecting surface (mirror surface) must face the light or the outside. When the outside is brighter than the inside, the one-way perspective glass is similar to a normal mirror, where the outside cannot see the inside, but the inside can see the outside. When the outside is dimmer than the inside, the outside can see the inside, and the inside can see the outside. The clarity depends on the strength of the outside lighting.

According to the law of reflection of light, when making a regular mirror, silver nitrate is coated on one side of the glass using a chemical silver plating method. When light enters the glass and hits the back silver layer, almost all of it reflects and forms an image in the human eye.

When making one-way perspective glass, a thin layer of reflective material (reflective paint or metal) is applied to the glass surface. When the observer is directly in front, what they see is not very different from what is seen in the mirror, and it is a reflected image. However, because the reflective coating is too thin, not all light is reflected to the observer’s eyes, and most of the light passes through the glass and continues to propagate to the other side.

One-way Perspective Glass is mainly suitable for hidden observation windows, holes, etc. It can be used in special places such as public security bureau, detention center, police station, prison, court, KTV , office, kindergarten, mental hospital, school, etc.

Product Installation Method

1. One-way Perspective Glass has positive and negative sides. The positive side is the glass mirror surface, used to reflect light. When installing, the positive side should face the monitored room (i.e., the space to be observed, such as the room where the suspect is located), and the negative side should face the judge’s position (i.e., the monitoring room).
2. The brightness of the monitored room’s lighting should be ensured to achieve better one-way perspective effect when the brightness of the monitored room is brighter and stronger, the one-way perspective effect of the glass is more obvious.
3. In order to achieve better One-way Perspective Glass , ceiling lamps should not be installed in the monitoring room, and no other light sources are allowed to exist. If there are windows next to the monitoring room, non-transparent curtains must be installed, such as sealed curtains used in hotels. When using, it is recommended to turn off all lights in the monitoring room.
4. If lighting is necessary in the monitoring room, it is recommended to use point-like lighting, such as writing desk lamps (with non-transparent lampshades), to reduce the range of light and control the lighting ratio between the monitoring room and the monitored room to 1:3 or lower to ensure the one-way perspective performance of the glass is intact. Note: Lights cannot be directly installed behind the glass to avoid the image of people in the monitoring room being reflected on the glass surface.
5. In order to enhance the overall reflectivity of One-way Perspective Glass, it is recommended to install spotlights above or below the glass mirror surface to enhance the overall reflectivity of the glass mirror surface and improve the one-way perspective effect of the glass.
6. The actual distance between the monitored person and the one-way perspective glass should be kept above 1 meter.
7. One-way Perspective Glass is a special type of glass, and the mirror surface must be protected during installation. Once the mirror surface is damaged, it cannot be repaired.
   

   Maintenance of One-way Perspective Glass

   Do not collide with the glass surface, and it is best to lay a tablecloth to prevent scratches. When placing things on glass furniture, handle them with care and avoid collisions.

   For daily cleaning, wipe with a damp cloth or newspaper. For stains, use a towel dipped in beer or warm vinegar to wipe them away. You can also use glass cleaners sold in the market, but avoid using solutions with strong acidity or alkalinity.
